Creamwolf

Another awesome game from PixelJam!
This time you're a werewolf posing as an icecream salesman. The goal is to serve icecream to children, earn their trust and then later when fullmoon strikes, eat them!

The dark music combined with the happy tune from your icecream truck really makes this a bizzare experience.

As always with PixelJam the art is superpixelated and brings my mind back to the days of the Atari 2600.

Every Day The Same Dream

Now this is an old favourite of mine. (even though the replay-value isn't that high).

This game is kind of hard to explain and tilts more towards the "artsy" side of the medium. Anyway check it out since it's kind of short and moody.

K.O.L.M

This is a metroid-style (yeah, you'll see!) platform/adventure-game with a bit of story going on behind the curtains. It has great pixelated graphics, and the most important thing: GREAT controls.

Lots of (mandatory) items are scattered all over the map for you to find.

Corporate Climber

This is another great game from PixelJam.

You start out as a simple janitor and the goal is to move up the corporate ladder and to finally take over the company. But how long will you stay on top?

There's just so much detail to this game. Lots of hidden stuff, funny stuff that's going on in the background and so forth. And if you get all the way up there and fail, maybe you should check out what's down below instead?

Corporation Inc

This is a strategy-game which reminds me a bit of the old "Sim Tower" for PC. Build offices, hire people and try to earn money.

Into Space

"Send a rocket to the moon and earn a lot of money" is pretty much the tagline for this game. You control the rocket with your mouse or keyboard and collect money a long the way. You won't be reaching the moon any day though since you have to buy a few upgrades to stand a chance against the wind/planes/UFOs and everything else that we usually find when we go high up enough.

Great music and graphics as well.

The Day

This start off as a happy adventuregame but all is not really what it seems to be, which you will find out if you play this game. It has 2 different endings and you can easily find both in about 15 minutes. The pixelated graphics and the music really helps create an eerie atmosphere here.

This game was made by Gregory Weir who have developed quite a few interesting flashgames.

Mountain Maniac

This is seruously one of the funniest flashgames I've ever played.
You're the "Mountain Maniac" and you're really pissed. So you decide to throw rocks down at the town below you. The graphics are REALLY simple but does the trick extremely well! The music and sound effects are also great.

This game was made by PixelJam who have made a lot of great games.

Give up, Robot

Now this is just an awesome platformer with great music/sound effects and beautiful psychadelic pixelgraphics! The goal is as simple as guiding your little robot to the end of the level (usually to the far right) by running, jumping and using your hookshot.

There's also a follow-up with the inspiring name of "Give up, Robot 2"

Crush the Castle 2 & Sieger

If you haven't played the first Crush the Castle there's really no idea why you should since part 2 is sooo much better. The goal is simple. Crush the castle and kill all the kings/queens/soldies or whoever lives there by using your catapult.

As you progress you will get different ammo for your catapult which has different effects on the stuff you hit with it.

Great art, overall feel and gameplay made this a classic the very instant it was published.

There's also a variant of this game with pretty much the same goals but more like a first person-perspective than the platform-style in Crush the Castle.

Exit Path

This is a platform game which involves a lot of running and dodging sharp things and spikes. I was a bit dissapointed at the controls at first as they were slow and felt unresponsive, but once you get used to them it's not really a big deal.
The game also have a bit of dark story and atmosphere to it which I really fell for.

Sushi Cat

This game is SO charming. The art and music creates a perfect atmosphere and the story is really quirky and a bit stupid. The game idea however is very simple and feels inspired by japanese pachinko-games. Drop your cat and have him fall down and bounce on various obstacles and moving platforms. The goal is to get as much sushi on each level as you can. Really adorable.

... and if you manage to beat it (and you will), try the follow-up:

Coma

This is a pretty strange adventure game. The controls are really simple and the puzzles can be frustrating but once you figure them out you're gonna slap your forehead and go all "aaaaw man... ". The art and music is beautiful as well. It's a pretty short game and can easily be beaten in one sitting.

One Button Bob

Another NinjaDoodle favourite of mine.
In this one you control Bob who's on a mission to find a treasure or something. You control Bob with the mousebutton which functionality changes on every new gamescreen.

It's frustrating as hell but quite fun.

And if you like it, there's a similar one here that's even harder:

Morplee

Morplee is quite an addictive games made by the guys over at http://www.ninjadoodle.com

The goal of the game is to reach the top and defeat the boss. In order to get to the top you have to beat a number of minigames, and the quirk is that you only got 1 minute in total! Once you've mastered the minigames (I still hate that ninja that hides from you behind the edge on the screen) you can try to focus on getting a highscore!

Very fun and addictive.

Welcome

As you all know (or are about to find out), not all flashgames are "HOW FAR CAN YOU TOSS THE PENGUIN!!"-style crap that you grow tired of in thirty seconds. Actually I didn't used to be that into flashgames (or flash at all) but since then, things have changed and nowadays there're a shitload of good games published almost every day at different portals like kongrate and armorgames.

I've been doing a few games myself (nothing advanced in flash yet though). Maybe I'll post some stuff later.

Anyway, the goal with this blog is to try to inform you about new cool flashgames which I happen to like. In the beginning this will of course not only be new games but also old ones you may have missed.
